Work With What You Have
Better Days
Le'Andria Johnson - Better Days
Colossians 3:23-24
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
Galatians 6:9
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
Psalm 128:2
"You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.”
I believe these scriptures are self explanatory. Colossians is the chapter where Paul writes a letter that encourages the christians to see Jesus as the center of all reality , so they don’t give in to pressure from other religions. In Galatians, Paul writes a letter to the Galatians to challenge the christians to stop allowing controversial Torah observances to divide their church's congregation. Lastly, in the book of Psalms it’s a way to show God’s faithfulness, hope for the people, God’s promises, God responding to all of the crisis, and God hearing the crisis of the people.
From the scriptures above I challenge you to work with :
What’s right in front of you :
Stop comparing yourself to others. You don’t know why they have the blessings they have and what needed to be done for them to get it.
Who’s infront of you :
You can’t force a person to realize what God see’s about you but you also have to be grateful for the people who are allowing you opportunities. Rather you agree with them or not accept it for what it is. Maybe if you appreciate what you have now God can give you what you truly want.
Today’s goal :
You can’t expect to make a $1 million when you haven’t made $1. Today is day one of your journey. You have many more days to go until you reach your destination.
Your friendships :
Appreciate who and what you have. Listen to the criticism your friends give you. It’s all out of love. Friends tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear.
What you have on your plate is what you have today. There’s a new meal for you to eat everyday you wakeup alive. I say this to say work with what you have. Don’t complain but be grateful because God chose to give you something. If you’re not grateful now then what makes you think you’ll be grateful when you get what you want? You will then tell yourself that you need more.
Down below I have the link to a book I’m currently reading that my mentor suggested. It’s one way to start working on being humble. Even if you have a humble mindset there’s nothing wrong with having a little more.
