LCO or LOC Method ?

Hey beauties it’s time for so more healthy tips !!! So this week we will get back on hair care and talk about the LCO and LOC method.

What is the LOC and LCO Method ?

This method is a technique used to apply moisture to the hair. The method starts with water which is considered a liquid (L), next people move forward with applying a cream (C), or oil (O) to seal the moisture. Whichever product you use next is up to you .However, I’ve done my research and found out the correct way to apply this method and gain more moisture retention.

Which method should I use ?

It all depends on the porosity of your hair :

Low Porosity :

If you have low porosity then you should use the LOC method due to the hair not being able to retain moisture as easy. Another way to make sure the method is working is by using a steamer which will open the cuticles of your hair so that you can apply a light oil and then sealing it lastly with a light cream. This hair level is easier to respond to water based hair products.

Medium Porosity:

With having medium porosity hair it’s best to not put a liquid or cream before one or the other but mixing the two products together. Medium porosity can easily be moisturized and it retains moisture well. This hair level is “balanced”.

High Porosity :

With high porosity hair it’s usually damaged due to chemicals making it easier for the hair to receive moisture because of gaps or holes in the cuticle. To get the best results make sure to use the LCO method. Getting heavier on the creams can help your hair receive the best results of moisture as possible.

I hope this blog helps you understand more about the purpose of this method and which technique will be the best fit for your hair. If you’re not sure about the porosity of your hair speak with a cosmetologist or book a consultation with SDA.
